With Internet becoming one of the basics for this generation, the news about having a faster internet connection is one of the most important things now. With complains of weak network coverage and slow processing of the internet flooding every now and then, we certainly need a better situation. And there we have the Reliance Jio, which is now all set to enter the battle for offering the best internet service in the country. It has been expected that the Reliance Jio will launch its 4G service commercially by the end of this year.  But with a view of partial launching of its service, they have now come up with a scheme that allows the customers to buy the Reliance Lyf brand handsets and use the said 4G service, before everyone else.

The launch of Reliance Jio is awaited because the company holds a pan-India license in the 4G spectrum. They will be offering only 4G LTE connectivity and ensures faster internet connectivity. This entire venture comes with a total investment of Rs. 34,000 crores.

Now to know  all about the Reliance Jio connection in Assam as well as in the entire country, I bring you the detailed explanations about the Whats and Hows of their service in the state.

#1 How to apply for the Reliance Jio Sim Card?

As mentioned already, the customers buying the Reliance Lyf brand handsets will get to use their 4Gconnections before its commercial launch. Prior to that, you’d need to register yourself at the Reliance Jio website ( On being registered, you’d be given a particular code, which will be mailed to you. The codes will be non-transferrable and will have expiry dates. So in order to apply for the smart phones and the sim card, you’d have to give the code along with your own ID and address proof to the Reliance Digital Stores.

# 2 What about the pricing of the Reliance Jio phones?

The basic Reliance Jio smart phones are coming at a really cheap price. They have launched these phones at just Rs.2999 each. While the features of this phone might not be really cool, the most significant part of it would be the free unlimited 4G connection for 3months that comes with the Reliance Jio Sim connection.
There are other options too like the Wind 5 and Wind 6 coming at prices of Rs 6,599 and Rs 5,999 respectively with 5-inch HD Display, 8 MP rear cameras and 5 MP front cameras along with the Android Lollipop 5.1 OS for the Wind 5.
With better specifications, Reliance has also come up with more expensive options like Earth 1 and Earth 2 with a price of Rs 15,000.

#3 What will be the speed range for Reliance Jio internet?

Reliance Jio internet comes with a great internet speed. It gives a downloading speed in the range of 6Mbps to 10Mbps, although the service is still in Beta.
When the Reliance Jio Wi-Fi service was made live at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in March this year ahead of the IPL, it was found that the Wi-Fi speeds were ranged at a whooping 65Mbps for downloading and 71 Mbps for uploading.

#5 What will be the pricing for the Reliance Jio internet service?

With the Reliance Jio SIM, the internet service will come for free for the first 90 days. Once the period is over, regular tariffs will apply, after the service is launched all over the country.

Reliance will be offering its services through a Long Term Evolution network. The Voice Services on Jio will be through Voice over LTE. This will allow the voice calls over the faster LTE instead of the regular speeds.  The company has already started its venture in the country by launching 2.5 lakh kilometres of fibre-optic cables, covering 18,000 cities and over one lakh villages. With customers having internet connectivity issues in Assam as well as in the rest of the country, Reliance Jio will be getting a fair chance to display what it has got. It has already made news by scoring 6th rank on data usage even before its commercial launch.  Thus, with Reliance Jio 4G, we hope to have better connectivity and faster net surfing.
